6 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Hell In A Cell 2017
2. Heart In Your Throat
As mentioned earlier, let’s set aside the gripe about Shane McMahon not being a wrestler and still going toe-to-toe with top talent.
The Hell in a Cell main event provided enough suspense toward the end that it felt like a horror movie, where you have your hands up to your face because you can barely watch. Of course, this is referring to the portion spent on top of the cell as Shane and Kevin Owens slammed each other on the roof of the structure.
Every time someone bumped onto the cell, you couldn’t help but remember Mankind breaking through the roof and plummeting to the ring below. Shane slammed and suplexed Owens, while KO hit a senton and pop-up powerbomb on the commissioner.
The match itself was little more than a series of elaborate stunts, and really shouldn’t be highly regarded, but at least there was a tangible storyline behind it and the elaborate stunts kept your attention.
