OK, maybe this is just being a little too optimistic, but we’ll give positive marks for WWE letting Apollo Crews dominate Monday night.

Crews notably was called up to the main roster last year way too early, racking up a couple quick wins before fading to the background. He was drafted to SmackDown and faded even further into obscurity. Several observers noted that he should have remained in NXT longer to work on promos and make sure he was ready to succeed on the main roster. When the Superstar Shakeup happened earlier this month, some speculated that Crews would benefit from leaving SmackDown and heading back to NXT.

Alas, Apollo did leave SmackDown, but he came to Raw instead. And while Crews hasn’t been treated like a big deal, he was given a convincing win over Curt Hawkins Monday night, and he seemingly is involved in a minor angle with Titus O’Neil, who is trying to brand Crews.

Hey, none of this might go anywhere or work, but for now, we’ll give tacit approval until proven otherwise.
