4. Wrestlers Played For Laughs

On the one hand, maybe we should be happy that so many wrestlers who normally would have nothing better to do would now get some screen time, but this isn’t an improvement.

The new 24/7 Title immediately produced a scramble to claim the title, a chase after Robert Roode won it, and a game of hide-and-seek that ended with R-Truth hiding Roode, and then turning on him to grab the pin and title.

The entire scenario turned guys like Roode, Truth, Cedric Alexander, No Way Jose, Good Brothers, EC3 and Eric Young as little more than guys with nothing else going on before agreeing to pursue a title where you never get any rest – or “prestige” from the title, for that sake.

Not the start you would hope for, with the “comedy” being exposed the first night.
