6 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 26)

3. Bayley's Weak Rebound

Bayley's not in a terrible place at the moment. She's taken a few pinfalls and has cooled-off from her red-hot debut, sure, but she's not built to be an instant major player. Bayley's attributes and character lend her to an underdog role, and while she's already one of Raw's most popular wrestlers, she'll benefit from a long, slow build towards becoming Women's Champion.

Last night saw her attempt to recapture Clash's lost momentum by wrestling Anna Fields, a local worker, and it flopped. Bayley won, sure, but she went 50/50 with an enhancement talent that the WWE Universe will likely never see again when she should've dominated.

All Bayley needed to do was come-out, pop the crowd, hit her big spots, and boom, the rebound would be complete. Instead, Raw presented Fields as an equal, which is exactly how squash matches shouldn't work. Bayley was able to grab the microphone after the match and promise that her run at the Women's Title wasn't over, but few were convinced after such a limp match.
