WWE finally figured out a way to get an entire arena to cheer for John Cena: Pit him against Roman Reigns.

Cena was the clear fan favorite in the match, despite soaking in some jeers himself. But it was readily apparent that Roman was the villain in this bout. When Cena hit a Super-AA on Roman, the fans chanted, “One more time!” They cheered Cena during the typical “Boo!/Yay!” spot where the wrestlers trade bombs.

Overall though, it was the reaction after the match that deserves the biggest nod. As Cena slowly brought himself back to his feet after Reigns left, the fans gave him a warm reception, even chanting, “Thank you Cena!” in appreciation.

It’s nice to know that even though he gets booed a lot of times, the fans overall respect his performance.
