6 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Raw (July 6)

1. Women’s Tag Champs > Raw Tag Champs

This is not meant to say that it’s a negative that the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions are dominating screen time and have a higher profile on Raw than the actual Raw tag champs. This is more of a criticism of how the writers have misused the Street Profits.

Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford captured the Raw Tag Team Championship more than four months ago, and while they’ve been featured on Raw quite a bit throughout the spring, they’ve rarely competed – wrestling just six matches since WrestleMania, and only four in the past three months. They’ve defended their tag titles twice since Mania, only once in the past three months.

This doesn’t mean that the Profits are dismal failures, but it says something when the WWE Women’s Tag Champions – who are regular SmackDown roster members – have had a bigger presence in recent weeks. Bayley & Sasha Banks will defend their titles on Raw for the second time in four weeks next week.

Meanwhile, we’re coming up on Extreme Rules and the Street Profits have vanished from Raw suddenly, which would make three straight PPVs the tag champs have not competed on. (Of course, the virus could be a factor here, so we’ll note that here.)
