6 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 14th)

1. Beast Off His Leash

You€™ve got to love Paul Heyman calling himself an order of protection for Dean Ambrose because he was the only man capable of holding Brock Lesnar back. Throughout his four-year run, Brock rarely has been able to be contained, so Paul E€™s words were just a little hollow.

Ambrose saw through it though and told Paul to let the Beast off his leash, begging Brock to get into the ring. True to form, Lesnar waited until Heyman walked to the back to begin his approach to the ring. He stalked around the ring and ultimately made a run at it, only for Dean to swing a crowbar at him, narrowly missing.

All of this served to transition Ambrose and Lesnar away from their brief feuds with Triple H and Bray Wyatt, respectively, and refocus them on each other. Ambrose wielding a crowbar was a nice way to remind everyone that their match at WrestleMania was a street fight, and any weapon goes for that bout. Ambrose might not stand a chance in a regular match, but with an equalizer like that, he could give Brock a run.

The segment worked well, playing to both men€™s strengths, and raising the question of whether Dean could find a way to slay the Beast.
