6 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 6)

2. Women’s Title Mess

This could easily be broken down into a series of “downs,” but let’s just lump everything together here.

First off, WWE’s attempt to make sense of Sunday night’s disastrous decision to have Bayley end Charlotte’s PPV winning streak four weeks before WrestleMania fell flat. Bayley admittedly felt like her win was tainted, making her less legitimate of a champion. Sasha Banks wanted a title match, and so did Charlotte, but rather than just booking what everyone knows is coming, Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon had to argue in the ring about it and make a qualifying match for Sasha.

Then the match itself was a slow parity match, with Bayley and Sasha trading headlocks, trading armdrags, trading pinfall attempts, trading missed moves… and finally ending with a Banks Statement for the tapout win in an underwhelming match. And then Charlotte laid out both women.

It was just a completely clunky and awkward segment and match that should have gelled a lot better than it did. Next week will probably be better, but this was not a great first step for this feud.
