6 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Elimination Chamber 2015
7. Why Are These Guys Money?
During Elimination Chamber on Sunday, WWE announced six of the participants in the Money in the Bank ladder match, which will take place in just two weeks: Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Neville, Kofi Kingston, Roman Reigns and Randy Orton. There are several things wrong with this. First off, why are these the guys who get to compete for the MITB briefcase? Ziggler and Sheamus just lost an Intercontinental Championship match and Kofi is a tag champ, not a singles competitor at the moment. But how did they get picked for this match, which essentially is a golden ticket for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? Remember when there were actual qualifying matches to get into the MITB ladder match? That made it actually seem like it was a big deal, that you had to earn your way into the match. This was, it looks like some unseen hand tapped six men to be in the ladder match. And if that unseen hand is the Authority, why would they put Roman Reigns or Randy Orton in a match where they could win a briefcase that allows one of them to cash in on Seth Rollins at any time? (Qualifying matches would have solved that logic gap.) Again, its not the end of the world, but its one of those things that could have used a little foresight.
