6 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Elimination Chamber 2017

Downs...

8. True Filler

On one hand, this is exactly the kind of match that should be a warmup act.

On the other hand, what does it say about WWE’s roster depth issues when Mojo Rawley versus Curt Hawkins is a PPV kickoff show match?

Hawkins and Rawley had what could best be described as a perfectly pedestrian and acceptable TV match before Elimination Chamber officially got underway, with Hawkins disrespecting Mojo’s buddy Rob Gronkowski on Twitter being the setup for this bout. There really isn’t much to say about the match, other than it happened, and Rawley took the victory.

This isn’t meant as a slight against the two wrestlers, but it’s just reflective of how thin the two main rosters are when this is deemed worthy of a PPV, even if it’s a kickoff show bout. Seriously, there’s no one else to put out there?
