6 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Raw 25

5. Beer And Stunners

Look, there’s nothing wrong with repeated beer salutes and Stone Cold Stunners, but it’s kind of a shame that Steve Austin was reduced/limited to walking out and stunning two McMahons.

Austin, arguably the biggest star on Raw during the past 25 years, came out as Vince McMahon was running down the fans. Vince threw his son Shane to the wolves, and Austin didn’t hesitate. He also got the chairman too, and stunnered Shane once more. During all of that, he drank a bunch of beers. And then he left.

Throughout his career, Austin was one of the better promo men in the company. And his turns as a podcast and TV show host have also been pretty successful. So why not have him actually speak while there? Maybe a line or two about Raw, the fans, anything?

It’s not a capital crime, but it stinks when a legend like Austin is boiled down to a quick caricature.
