6 Ups And 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 5th)

Can Brock stop the ratings freefall? Only if he's in every segment.

With ratings in a freefall and no simple solution to stop the bleeding, WWE did the only thing it thought it could do Monday: Give yourself a shot in the arm in the form of Brock Lesnar and try to replenish the ratings. Lesnar, fresh off a dominating performance at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, is the one legit, mainstream star on the active roster (unless the Rock or €œStone Cold€ Steve Austin suddenly start getting the itch), so WWE added a date to his calendar and brought him in. Unfortunately for WWE, an awesome opening segment really was the high point of the show, which meant fans had to sit through another two hours and 40-plus minutes of Raw. Perhaps they need to have him come out every other segment and just demolish whatever geeks are in the ring at the time. It can€™t be any worse than what€™s going on right now, and really, would that damage King Barrett€™s standing any worse than the writers already have done? The other big storyline Monday night was Corporate Kane teaming with Seth Rollins against the Dudley Boyz, getting carted off and then returning as Demon Kane to obliterate the world champ. While Kane€™s dual personality gimmick was fun and fresh, they are now playing it a little too silly, with the suit-wearing Kane nursing a busted ankle, but the Big Red Monster impervious to pain. It also doesn€™t help that the announcers are questioning whether Kane is playing mind games or really has schizophrenia. So what F5€™d the opposition and what got chokeslammed to hell? Let€™s get to it€
