6 Ups And 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 5th)

7. Hyperbole Much?

We all know that announcers have to occasionally make something that was awful seem awesome, something boring seem hilarious, and something that was OK seem outstanding. It€™s understandable, but sometimes the announcers cross the boundaries of acceptability. JBL tried to convince fans that Saturday€™s Madison Square Garden match between Brock Lesnar and Big Show was €œa titanic battle,€ comparing it to Ali/Frazier. He then talked about how Brock took Show to Suplex City, €œsomething we never thought we€™d see€€ except for that time at Royal Rumble 2014 that he destroyed Show, or the 2003 episode of Smackdown where Lesnar superplexed Show to implode the ring (which they showed on Saturday€™s show). We get that you have to sell something as epic, but trying to convince us that a four-minute match that consisted of 30 seconds of Show on offense and the rest being pummeled was €œa titanic battle€ is just insulting.
