6 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 2)
4. Rollins Not Catching On
It looks like WWE is trying to go for something a little subtler with Seth Rollins’ heel turn, and while it might eventually work, it’s not there yet.
Instead of just becoming a full-blown villain, Rollins is insisting that his berating of the roster was from a good place, contending that he’s the locker room leader who is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. The self-martyrdom could work really well if he ramps it up in the coming weeks.
However, as it stands now, it just isn’t clicking with fans. We don’t need to be hit over the head with the sledgehammer of plot, but we need a little more to move this along or at least show the signs that this is angling toward something nefarious.
A week or two from now, this column might be calling Rollins’ heel turn a great story arc. But for right now, it gets a mild down because it’s not clicking.
