6 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 2)

5. No Good Way

Let’s face it: There are a finite number of ways to make a handicapped match work well and not make someone look stupid. You’ve got to be on top of your game when booking it.

Somehow, booking Charlotte Flair to nearly overcome the Kabuki Warriors – the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, both former NXT Women’s Champions and a former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion (Asuka) – isn’t the best way.

The match itself wasn’t bad, but if this is leading to Charlotte needing a tag partner to overcome the Warriors – and if that partner turns out to be Becky Lynch – then why have Flair hang in there for nearly 20 minutes and almost win the match on a couple occasions? That says you can just put a tomato can out there and they’ll beat Asuka and Kairi Sane.

It isn’t just then 2-on-1 nature of the match. It’s the opposition. If we were talking the IIconics, no one would have batted an eye, because neither woman has accomplished anything as a singles wrestler. They should have booked this to be much shorter, with Charlotte in a little more trouble than she was.
