6 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Feb 9)

DOWNS€

6. This Is €˜Sting!€™

When word leaked out that WWE€™s deal with Sting was for an extremely limited number of dates, it didn€™t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the company was going to have to get creative in how they stretched things out. With a reported six appearances and Survivor Series counting as one of them, that only left four non-WrestleMania appearances (and another was used three weeks ago). So when Triple H called out Sting on Raw, it was highly doubtful he would actually appear, especially since Fast Lane is going to be another appearance. Instead, we got some lighting tricks, doubles standing far off in the stands, a body double materializing in the ring, and a video message accepting the challenge. Wait, a body double in the ring? Did WWE hire Jeff Farmer? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90hr7CDL3EQ Obviously, this was the only move WWE could make, and it wasn€™t a terrible one. It actually falls in line with some of the mind games Sting played on Hollywood Hogan during their yearlong WCW feud in 1997. But even with the flashing lights, it was still readily apparent that the man who scared Triple H out of his shoes wasn€™t the Icon. A minor issue, yes, but one that should not be repeated.
