6 Worst Men's WWE World Champions Of The PG Era

1. Kane

Kane World Heavyweight Champion

The Devil's Favourite Demon held onto his Money In The Bank briefcase for less than an hour before cashing in on Rey Mysterio. It was Kane's first world title since his one-day reign with the WWE title 12 years earlier, but the combination of The Big Red Machine and the big gold belt never caught fire. The storyline he was given was a large part of the run flopping.

He was somehow working face, despite cashing in MITB against everyone's favourite underdog until it was revealed that he had put The Undertaker into a vegetative state earlier that summer. After his brother was bested, Kane - now a heel - feuded with a babyface Edge who kidnapped Paul Bearer to mentally torture the champ.

Kane did get some big, relatively clean wins over his returning brother over the course of his five-month run, but historically, the matches between the two Brothers of Destruction never quite lived up to the character work. Paul Bearer returned just after 'Taker, pretending to align with The Deadman before turning on him to help Kane win inside Hell In A Cell. In short, the storyline was a mess.
