Mickie James started out in late 2005 as this obsessed superfan of Trish Stratus that was living her dream of becoming a wrestler. She followed her everywhere, even into the shower. All of it led to Mickie revealing that she was really a crazy chick that was obsessed with Trish. Her memorable heel moments really got people talking because it was unlike anything we had ever seen by women in wrestling. Things changed for her at WrestleMania 22 in Chicago. Even though Trish was a babyface that was beloved by the fans, the crowd absolutely loved Mickie. It was more than just because she's a really hot woman that wore revealing outfits. She knew how to wrestle too. Above all that, the reason they cheered when she let out a big yell at ringside was because her character was one the most creative divas there's ever been in WWE. The fans liked her because she was crazy, but also because she stood out from the pack. Within a few months, Mickie became one of the top babyfaces in the divas division. When Trish left the company six months after WrestleMania, Mickie ascended to the role of the unquestioned top babyface in WWE and that was the role she was in for nearly four years until she was released. Was she always going to turn face when Trish left? Perhaps. In this case, though, it was definitely the crowd that dictated her future. They helped turn this crazy woman into one of the most popular divas of all time.
