7 Best Ways WWE Can Utilise Rumoured Returning Stars
4. Jeff Hardy
There is no way Jeff Hardy can return to WWE as anything but a main event attraction.
When he is "on", there are few stars more captivating and beloved in the world of professional wrestling. He has a way of forcing the audience to invest emotionally in everything he does. Hardy has spent two-plus decades of his life putting his body on the line in the name of entertainment and fans have rewarded him with an energy and vocal support that few superstars ever achieve.
The last time the WWE Universe laid eyes on Hardy, he was losing a "Loser Leaves WWE" match to CM Punk in August 2009. Since then, he has become the cornerstone of TNA Wrestling, its biggest attraction and the one star keeping that company in the national conscious.
At a time when John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Undertaker and Triple H are counted on by WWE to help boost buyrates in and around WrestleMania season, Hardy could shoulder some of the responsibility. Unlike The Game and The Phenom, though, Hardy has proven time and time again in TNA that he still has gas left in the tank.
While he may not be the performer he once was, he is still immensely talented and understands crowd psychology.
Best of all, beating him means something. Even as the face of TNA during its descent into mediocrity (to put it nicely) his star is inarguable, lending itself to putting over young talent. As a former world champion in a New Era, Hardy can prepare the next generation for a decade of stardom, just as industry icons did for him so long ago.
