3. Bret Hart & The British Bulldog Vs. Vader & The Patriot (Badd Blood 1997)
The October 1997 Badd Blood PPV featured a tag match with the WWE Champion Bret Hart teaming with his brother in law the British Bulldog representing Canada as heels against the babyface American team of Vader and The Patriot. Seeing a champion not defending the WWE Title on a PPV was weird especially when he was healthy. Why do a tag match? It wasn't a great idea. It was a Flag Match that could have ended in multiple ways: pinfall, submission or retrieving a flag that was attached to the post in the corners of the respective teams. A memorable part of the match came near the end when a fan decided to enter the ring to get at Hart most likely and he got stomped on for his efforts while being taken out by security. This was one of the longer style Flag Match since they got 24 minutes. The crowd wasn't really that hot for it. The babyface team just wasn't on the same level as the heels. When The Patriot received the hot tag there was barely a reaction for it. Hart ended up getting the pin for his team after rolling through on the Patriot by grabbing his tights. It was an anticlimactic ending to the match.
