When you're showing a match to somebody that really isn't a fan, it's important to pick something that has good crowd reactions. If somebody that doesn't know anything about wrestling is watching it at least they can gauge what the crowd is feeling by listening to them cheer or boo the guys. In this case, they were rooting especially hard for local hero CM Punk. The story is easy to understand because Punk was the hometown guy that was wrestling in what was possibly going to be his last match. We didn't know he signed a contract. All we knew is that his deal was up, yet he still had to get through this match with the WWE Title on the line. It's a story that is easily relatable. It's one of the best matches in WWE history, so that's another reason to show it. There were many instances throughout the match where the finish is in doubt. On the one hand, a lot of people thought that Cena would win and that Punk would leave WWE for real. A lot of us assumed Punk was going to win, but we had no idea what would happen next. That uncertainty about Punk plus the fact that it was an amazing match is what makes it so appealing. Plus, CM Punk would never just leaveright? Hmm. Well let's move on!
