7 Better Ways WWE Could've Returned CM Punk

Look at the fire Punk had in his eyes, even as he coached David Arquette of all people into why his promo was an F minus. Tell me that same energy wouldn't work at ringside in a similar (but better, sorry Sami) role than Zayn has right now?

The reality he took into that moment shows exactly the type of wrestler Punk is. Like he said on Backstage, this wasn't just a job, this was something he feels he mastered. So why not pass that on?

Helping out somebody like an upstart from NXT is the obvious choice. Letting him be the mouthpiece for Damian Priest or even a bigger group like Imperium would be a wonderful use of his talents on the mic. But nostalgia is always so much more fun to explore, isn't it?

Having him manage some of his former rivals would be amazing for the sake of revisiting history and rejuvenating careers. Samoa Joe for example, although he doesn't need help on the mic, could certainly use that dynamic.

Or what about Cesaro, Kassius Ohno, Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens? They all have their history together, and Punk could even go the route Zayn is going now and form a stable with as many of those names as will join, and it could be called something like "The Independents" or "The Movement" because this is WWE and it has to have an action movie name.

You know the more I write this... was this Zayn storyline supposed to be for CM Punk all along and they just adapted it to be more twerpy?
