The new commentary teams have been a bit... confusing after the brand split.

And yet change doesn't seem to be on the way just yet. With the brand split previously mentioned falling relatively flat, having Punk around to join the booth on Fox would've been a great role to offer in hindsight.

A long history with a headset, Punk worked commentary for IWA Mid-South in his early career and then picked it back up both in his time with WWE and after with MMA promotion Cage Fury Fighting Championships.

He definitely is a proven wrestler, and if you were to swap Dio with Punk in that moment with Lesnar? A blip on the radar becomes a moment etched in wrestling history, playing off the past the two friends have at the end of Punk's last run.

But being that we are looking forward here, now would be the time to start making the calls. Both to Punk and to the bank to secure the bags, of course. But much like the "Piper's Pit" equivalent, this would be a role that plays to what he wants to do. But what they can't do is try to make him go to the Michael Cole school of broadcasting.

If they want to go this route (and they should, because it would be gold) then they need to let him be out there as himself. Just like he was when he first put on that headset on Raw way back in 2010.

Which brings us to...
