7 Better Ways WWE Could've Returned CM Punk
1. Bring The NXT Invasion Full Circle
Remember Nexus? That stable (in both iterations) perhaps in no better way sums up the frustrations of what Punk was conveying upon his exit from the company. There was so much promise with the initial concept and execution and talent involved, and yet everything after that was poorly written and mismanaged.
It constantly became a way to put over the same old stars, despite WWE desperately needing to create and put over a new batch of workers. Oh yeah, and having a literal faction full ready and poised to be pushed and accepted as such.
Sure, most wouldn't have been main stays in the main event but it certainly could have impacted their careers more positively than just putting over Cena and Orton on an endless cycle.
But NXT has come a long way since those days. As Punk himself Tweeted, he has to "catch up on 5+ years of rasslin" (hey, Tony Khan, how you doing?). So he may not have seen what his biggest fan Triple H has molded over down at Full Sail.
Getting a first hand look on the "front lines" of the war at Survivor Series would be a very fitting way to bring the current NXT invasion full circle, with its Nexus predecessor that helped birth the pipe bomb. And with constant in fighting going on in the NXT brand, and rumors (pinch of WrestleVotes) about Triple H maybe joining the team, we may even see CM Punk try to take The Game's crown as king of NXT during the Survivor Series event/match. This leaves things wide open for booking from there.
Do the team members of NXT split, or remain loyal to the man who built it these past several years? Or do they join the "cult of personality"?
You're either Nexus, or against us. Third time's the charm.
