The moment that WWE began teasing Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch and/or Charlotte Flair, it was a dead cert that the Raw Women's Championship match would be getting the main event of WrestleMania and, given Ronda's star-power and the fact that Becky is arguably the most over superstar in the company right now, it was easy to see why. What wasn't as easy to see was their sudden decision to add the SmackDown Women's Championship to the equation.

Much of the WWE Universe had predicted that, once the Women's Tag Team Championships debuted, the SmackDown Women's Championship would be a casualty. Well, after WrestleMania, that certainly appears to be the case.

The Triple Threat match was big enough as it was and, quite frankly, the SmackDown Women's Championship added nothing of value to the entire situation, given that it was a last-minute inclusion. Throwing it into the mix not only robbed the event of a separate SmackDown Women's Championship match, it took the title away from the more-deserving Asuka and squandered Charlotte's record-breaking eighth championship reign which was ultimately nothing more than another stepping stone for Becky to overcome.
