4. The No Holds Barred Stipulation In Triple H And Batista's Match

There was once a time when a No Holds Barred stipulation made viewers grin with excitement, but now it's just a painful excuse for aging part-timers to batter each other with steel chairs in order to hide their shortcomings. Unfortunately, that was once again the case with Triple H and Batista's clash.

While there's nothing wrong with some good use of weaponry in a match like this, and Triple H damn sure came up with some creative ways to use them, it all started far too early. The pair didn't really have a chance to form any kind of chemistry in the ring because, as soon as the weapons came out, it immediately hit the slow, plodding pace that foreign objects usually bring with them - and 24 minutes of that wasn't exactly what we wanted to see from these two.

Look, it isn't 2005 anymore. We knew that this match wasn't going to be up to the same standard as their previous battles, but the creative team didn't have to take the wrestling away from them altogether. These two are brawlers so, at the very least, we could have seen a little more, well, brawling. Shortcomings or not, Batista deserved a more physical final battle.

Unfortunately, this relied far too heavily on these weapon-shaped smoke and mirrors, which ultimately made it a slog to get through.
