7 Clues Dolph Ziggler Is Winning WWE Royal Rumble 2018
1. There Is Nobody Else Who Can Logically Win
If AJ remains the WWE Champion going into The Show Of Shows, there's no other top heel on the roster that can realistically challenge him for the strap besides Dolph Ziggler. The angle between Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan is likely to carry on through WrestleMania season, Booby Roode’s heel turn may still be some time off, and Jinder Mahal is in a program for the US Championship at the Royal Rumble (not that literally anyone is keen on the idea of Mahal going for the WWE Title again any time soon).
With the Elimination Chamber event being exclusive to Raw this year, there will most likely be a No.1 contenders match for the Universal Title at the show, meaning a wrestler from Smackdown Live is a sure thing to win the Rumble.
All that being said, the only other person who can feasibly win the Rumble is free agent John Cena. Disregarding the rumours that he's challenging The Undertaker at 'Mania, Cena is the bookie’s favourite to win - but it feels like too much letting Cena tie for most Rumble wins before going on to break the record for most World Title wins. WWE would be investing too much in a wrestler that now only performs part-time.
It's weird - if it was ANYBODY else, the signs actually point to something big. But it's Dolph, so they don't.
Or do they?
