7 Defunct WWE PPVs That Need To Be Brought Back

1. Invasion

Obviously the idea of a WCW vs WWE angle is a terrifying prospect for every wrestling fan, given the disastrous way in which this was handled back in 2001. However, a similar concept could set the wrestling world on fire if utilised in the correct way. Much has been made of the unbelievable hotbed of talent that is the current NXT roster. Neville is making slight waves on the main shows now, but Owens, Balor, Itami and Zayn are still largely waiting in the wings (bar a brief WrestleMania appearance from Hideo). Think of how exciting the initial Nexus run in the WWE was, before the newcomers were quickly bested by established wrestlers (most notably John Cena) without properly following up on their enthralling debut. Now replace underwhelming superstars such as David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty with Finn Balor and Kevin Owens, add a lengthly build to an Invasion-style PPV, and - most importantly - put the NXT boys over. The results would be utterly compelling.
