1. The Young Bucks

There have been several highly documented cases of bad writing and character changes in wrestling, but the Young Bucks transition into Generation Me may be amongst the worst of all time.

Having initially impressed TNA management and then owner, Dixie Carter, in a trial match against MCMG, the Young Bucks were officially signed in 2009. Fans were excited by this prospect but the infamously bad ingenuity of Dixie Carter struck again, as she rebranded them as Generation Me, with Matt and Nick’s in-ring names becoming Jeremy and Max Buck.

The duo requested their release from the company less than a year later, slamming TNA for their poor scripting and character development in the process. The fallout was so bad that Matt Jackson later revealed his desire to quit wrestling altogether following their TNA exit. Now however, the Young Bucks are considered to be one of the best tag teams in the world, having perfected their trade for NJPW, ROH, and now AEW.
