7 Early Signs From WWE That No Mercy Will Top SummerSlam 2017

7. Shorter Run Time Will Help The Show

SummerSlam's two-hour Kickoff show and four-hour pay-per-view run time felt excessive. Arguing against more wrestling feels wrong for a fan, but there's a sweet spot even for those who adore WWE's product; WrestleMania is the exception to this, largely because well, it's 'Mania. SummerSlam, although one of the traditional 'Big 4', needed trimming in terms of length.

No Mercy won't suffer from the same problems. This will be the standard three-hour format from WWE, albeit with the more palatable 60-minute Kickoff pre-show tacked on. Unlike SummerSlam, the company won't expect fans to sit through hours of tedious banter and endless video packages for a few matches. In this sense, No Mercy will whizz past.

Generally, the less time it takes to get to the bigger matches the better in WWE. SummerSlam was bogged down by too many bouts that didn't hold much interest (or worse, didn't deliver inside the ring). Should No Mercy add a few more quality matches to the card, then it won't have the same issue.
