7 ECW Wrestlers Who Totally Failed In WCW

7. The Public Enemy

The Public Enemy were a tag team that was present in ECW when the company started. The two guys in the group were Johnny Grunge and Rocko Rock. They went on to win the ECW tag team titles four times. Like a lot of ECW talent, they were probably frustrated with the money situation and when WCW came calling for them, they went running. Their run in WCW wasn't that memorable. They started there in January 1996 and stuck around until 1998 although by that point they were barely featured much at all. Their only Tag Team Title reign took place in 1996 although they only held the gold for eight days. A big problem for them was that they didn't fit in with WCW. Their gimmick was a mix of rap and punk rock. That music was huge in the mid-1990s, so it fit in with ECW because their show was very cool too. In WCW, it was a southern "wrasslin'" company and they just didn't know how to properly promote what made The Public Enemy work in the first place. They probably enjoyed the money they made in WCW, but on screen they really didn't fit in at all.
