7 Fascinating WWE Backstage Facts About Triple H

6. He Wanted To Fire Edge

Edge Wwe The hottest WWE feud of 2005 was Matt Hardy vs Edge. Amy Dumas, Matt€™s very real partner of several years and better known as Lita, had done the dirty on the eldest Hardy brother and had been having an affair with Adam Copeland, aka Edge. A wrestling locker room is often built on trust and brotherhood, so the actions of Edge and Lita were heavily frowned upon by those in the WWE. Whilst the situation irked many of the WWE talent and crew, one person who took major umbrage with things was HHH. When it became clear that Copeland had betrayed Hardy, Hunter is said to have wanted to fire Edge for his part in things. Of course, this would not happen, with HHH being overruled on this matter and instead it would actually be Hardy who would be the one let go when the smoke cleared. It€™s been long-believed that Hunter was never the biggest fan of Edge€™s, and you€™d have to figure that if the same incident happened now then HHH€™s current position in the WWE hierarchy would€™ve led to him getting his way. As it would happen, this real-life shocker would be brought to life as a WWE storyline, giving Edge the final push that he needed to step into the main event and to become the Rated-R Superstar, with a very heated feud with the returning Hardy only helping Edge€™s rise up the card.
