7 Fascinating WWE Backstage Facts About Triple H

7. He Is The Very Real Executive Vice President of WWE

Whilst his current on-screen persona sees HHH in a role of power as part of The Authority, Paul Levesque is in a very real position of prominence in the WWE hierarchy. His work behind the scenes can be traced backs years, with him even having a role in the Montreal Screwjob. But it was with his 2001 career-threatening quad injury that the famed student of the game really started to learn the ropes of running the company as he shadowed Vince McMahon and the various facets of the WWE product. In 2010, Levesque was made Executive Senior Advisor, even getting his own office in the WWE€™s Stamford headquarters. By 2011, this position would change to Executive Vice President of Talent and Live Events, and in 2013 HHH would be promoted to Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative. So for all the power his character is often given on TV, the real life Paul Levesque certainly has a lot of sway, being responsible for overseeing talent relations, development facilities, and having a part in the creative direction of the company€™s product. He has even recently been appointed to the WWE's Board of Directors. As HHH has ascended the ranks of the WWE on a business level, so his power has increased. Some see this as a good thing, others not so much so. There are even stories that Hunter has had major disagreements with Vince McMahon over things such as the whole debacle surrounding Batista's 2014 return, what to name development talent (KENTA in particular), who should face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 31, and how to position Roman Reigns. Whereas Vince is still Vince, HHH and Stephanie have regularly been at odds with other high ranking WWE execs. Now that the pair find themselves on the Board of Directors, those butting of heads are only going to intensify and the duo make quite the intimidating, powerful team. Still, for now at least, the final say on all matters lays at the door of one man: Vincent Kennedy McMahon.
