5. Desmond Wolfe Feuding With Kurt Angle

Drake Maverick has the chance to wrestle full time for WWE once his GM gig is up on 205 Live. Sadly, fellow Brit Nigel McGuinness, once a stand out for ROH, was forced into retirement from the ring in 2011, now plies his trade as an announcer on NXT (and 205 Live) and has little chance of doing the same.

In late-2009, he had his last in-ring hurrah against Kurt Angle in TNA.

Working as Desmond Wolfe, McGuinness worked back-to-back stunners on pay-per-view with Angle at Turning Point and Final Resolution towards the end of the year. The first was a sound singles match, but it was the follow-up, a "Three Degrees Of Pain" (Three Stages Of Hell) effort that really sold his skills.

It's a shame Wolfe didn't get to show more in TNA. He was reportedly on his way to WWE before signing with the company anyway, and only ended up there after failing a medical. Nigel's retirement less than two years after his epics with Angle overshadow the fine work he did down at the Impact Zone.
