Every wrestling fan with even a passing interest in Impact Wrestling will know about the drama of Victory Road 2011. Visibly under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, Jeff Hardy worked a short, uncomfortable match with Sting in the main event and disappeared from TNA television for almost six months.

When he returned (delivering a promo taped in August that'd air come September), Hardy cut a reflective, understanding figure who apologised for his actions and vowed to clean up his act. Thankfully, he did, and the Victory Road debacle ended up being a shot in the arm his personal life sorely needed.

Embarrassing or not, it set Jeff on the right path again.

The apologetic promo is rarely discussed when people talk about that tumultuous time in Jeff's career. To his credit, he owned the situation, took full accountability and came back a much better, healthier performer who started enjoying wrestling again.
