7 Huge Mistakes WWE Made With Chris Jericho's Debut Year

5. The Angle With Ken Shamrock Was Rushed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN1bI1w6i0c In his second month in WWE, Jericho was put into a feud with Ken Shamrock that didn't last long. Shamrock was a babyface that earned a reputation as one of the toughest guys in WWE. Their feud was so brief that they only had two matches on television and the second one was a First Blood match. A First Blood match taking place so soon after a feud started was pretty ridiculous. Their First Blood match took place on the September 23 edition of Smackdown with Jericho wearing hockey gear to prevent himself from getting busted open. He was getting beat up by Shamrock when Mr. Hughes ran in to help Jericho. The match ended after a top rope splash by Jericho, which led to Shamrock bleeding from the mouth. They probably could have had a really good feud if they were given a chance to have more matches. Instead, they had two matches on Smackdown that really weren't that memorable at all.
