7 Huge Returns WWE Fans Most Want In 2017
5. Rey Mysterio
When Rey Mysterio left WWE in 2015, it was a long time coming. For nearly a year, the legendary star had been on the sidelines, hoping to get his release and pursue work elsewhere. When he finally was able to leave the company, he immediately signed with lucha libre giant Triple A, making the company even more star studded.
Over the course of 2015, though, Triple A lost most of its top talent. Legendary heel Perro Aguayo, Jr. died after a tragic in-ring accident, while Myzteziz jumped back to CMLL and Alberto El Patron returned to WWE. With Triple A soon unable to afford Mysterio - and rumors swirling that the star wanted back in WWE - he left the group in 2016.
Still, like Johnny Mundo, Mysterio is locked into a contract with Triple A's sister organization, Lucha Underground - one that reportedly goes through the as-yet-unconfirmed fourth season. If the fourth season doesn't materialize, Mysterio would be able to return to WWE in 2017, but if it does, he could be locked in until it finishes airing.
