7 Huge Returns WWE Fans Most Want In 2017
4. Kurt Angle
When Kurt Angle's TNA run came to an end in early 2016, it marked the culmination of nearly a decade-long tenure with the company - far longer than the one he had in WWE. Despite all that, though, fans still view him as a "WWE guy" and still want one last run from the Olympic Gold Medalist.
Angle has spend the bulk of 2016 competing sparingly, but over the summer - with the fervor over the brand extension in full swing - he came close to signing a deal with WWE. There were different rumors about what his role would be (everything from a part-time comeback to a managerial position with American Alpha), but ultimately, the company got cold feet and nothing happened.
It's inevitable that Angle will return to WWE at some point - if for nothing else than an induction into the hall of fame - and given that he's almost 48, 2017 might be the company's last chance to get one more match out of him. A showdown with former rival Brock Lesnar seems like an excellent use of Angle.
