7 Huge Returns WWE Fans Most Want In 2017
3. MVP
When MVP left WWE in 2010, it was on good terms and with the understanding that the star might be back someday. Frustrated with his usage in the company, he wanted to compete in New Japan, and he did just that. The star became the first IWGP Intercontinental Champion and had a fruitful couple of years in NJPW before returning stateside.
When he did come back to the U.S., though, it was to TNA, not WWE. He ended up spending over a year in the company, working as a wrestler and authority figure, and when a planned Lucha Underground run in 2016 didn't work out, he was rumored to be on his way back to WWE - in fact, his was one of the first names to come up when news broke that the company would be hiring former stars after the brand split.
Ultimately, the company and MVP couldn't come to terms, with rumors indicating WWE offered the former United States champion a lowball deal. Still, if they can up their contract offer, MVP would be a perfect addition to WWE, especially on the Smackdown brand where he once found his greatest success.
