7 Major Questions Surrounding Roman Reigns’ WWE Suspension
5. Will The Triple Threat Be Changed?
Of course, the issue with bringing Reigns back just days before the PPV is that while he’ll certainly be able to participate in the match, but he won’t be available to promote it.
We currently have four weeks of television to fill in the build-up to Battleground. Trying to make that build as compelling as possible will be rather difficult with just two thirds of the equation to hand. Of course, Reigns missed a few weeks of this year’s ‘Mania build and still went on to headline the show, but that didn’t really go down too well, did it…
And anyway, this will be an even longer lay-off, which begs the question as to whether or not the Battleground main event will remain unchanged.
Luckily, that’s a question that was put to the WWE by F4WOnline. Their response was that “the suspension runs through July 20. He is eligible to return on July 21. Battleground is on July 24. We are considering all of our creative options.”
Considering all of their creative options. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that what they should be doing all of the time? To be honest I doubt they’re going to change the Triple Threat—but that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily the right call.
