7 Major Questions Surrounding Roman Reigns’ WWE Suspension

6. So Why Put Him In The Triple Threat?

Okay, so let’s take Meltzer’s word for it and assume that the WWE did know about this in advance. If that were the case, why did they persist with adding Reigns to the Triple Threat match set for the Battleground pay-per-view next month?

Surely it would have been easier to just pull him from any and all storylines, what with the fact that he won’t be around to do anything for the next 30 days. And furthermore, it wouldn’t have been difficult to simply name Rollins the number one contender. Then, if they’re still intent on having Reigns return to the main event scene, they can bring him back into the fold a little later down the line once the dust from all this has settled. Right?

Wrong. The simple answer to all of this relates to the timeframe of his suspension. Reigns will be eligible to return to work on Thursday 21 July, so with Battleground taking place on July 24, that means that technically he’ll be available to appear at the PPV. Apparently, the WWE doesn’t see any issue with this.

Problem solved, then!
