7 Major Questions Surrounding Roman Reigns’ WWE Suspension

3. Why Not Just Have Seth Win The Belt?

Another indicator that Ambrose is more than just a placeholder champion is the fact that he even cashed-in in the first place. If the sole reason for Ambrose’s win had been to simply shift the belt from Reigns, why not just have Rollins beat Reigns and call it a day at that?

For me, it seems like the answer is that this was very much an intentional development. That way, we have the awesome trivia nugget that on June 19, all three members of the Shield were at one point WWE Champion. That’s the perfect way to set up the eagerly anticipated Shield Triple Threat—an angle that’s been years in the making.

It also creates another nice titbit; it means that at one stage or another, Reigns won the title by beating Ambrose, Rollins won the title by beating Reigns, and Ambrose won the title by beating Rollins.

It’s kind of like a Shield love triangle for the championship. But not like the kind you’ve read about on Tumblr.
