7 Matches That Must Happen At NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia

If Ember Moon was a somewhat surprising winner of the NXT Women’s Championship four-way at TakeOver: WarGames, Andrade "Cien" Almas capturing the big X was a huge shock. Not many gave the former IWGP Intercontinental Champion a chance going into his match with Drew McIntyre. 'La Sombra' proved everyone wrong however, and we have a new NXT Champion.

Aleister Black and Adam Cole also picked up big wins at NXT TakeOver: WarGames, and both men must be in line for a championship shot sooner rather than later. Cole seems destined for the NXT Championship, while Black is in position for a marquee match at the WrestleMania TakeOver before moving to the main roster.

Why not shoot two birds with one stone on 27 January? The NXT Championship hasn’t been defended in a multi-man match since the famous main event of NXT TakeOver: Fatal 4-Way. It has never been defended in a triple threat match. Why not make history the night before the Royal Rumble?

Adam Cole sneaks out the victory, before going on to face Aleister Black or Roderick Strong in New Orleans. NXT also comes out of Philly with Gargano vs. Ciampa, TM-61 vs. Fish/O’Reilly and Ember vs. Sane on the NOLA plate. These are exciting times for NXT.
