7 Most Ready NXT Stars To Call Up To WWE After WrestleMania 31

4. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens debuted on NXT TV in December of 2014. A lot of people knew who he was because he had a lot of success in the indies, particularly Ring of Honor, as Kevin Steen. WWE capitalized on that fame by pushing him quickly. He turned heel on best friend Sami Zayn, won the NXT Title from him two months after his debut and now he's the dominant heel champion that the NXT brand needs. Owens is currently dealing with a knee injury after minor surgery that will keep him out of action for about 4-6, but NXT tapes so far in advance that his absence won't be felt. What Owens brings to the table is a talented big guy that can have great matches on anybody, deliver top of the line promos in any style and he's got credibility. Fans believe everything he does because he's so confident in his own ability. There is some concern about how he might get used on the main roster because Vince McMahon may not be as high on him as Triple H is on NXT, but we won't know until he gets there. Hopefully Vince realizes that he's a talented individual and just because he's not some "jacked" wrestler doesn't make him any less talented. The reason he's not number one on this list is because of time served. Other people have been there for two or three years. He's been on NXT TV for about four months, so it might not be right after WrestleMania when he gets called up. However, WWE shouldn't wait too long. He should be there by SummerSlam if not sooner.
