7 Must-See Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan WWE Moments

5. Andre’s Heel Turn

As mentioned before, one of Bobby Heenan’s best assets was being able to control a crowd and get them to boo almost at will. Being associated with The Weasel was enough to become a hated heel.

And that’s exactly what happened in 1987 when Andre The Giant brought Heenan on as him manager to challenge then-friend Hulk Hogan for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. The Brain’s presence was more than enough to get the point across, as Heenan had tried for years to wrest the title away from Hogan, and Andre was now the latest charge in the Heenan Family.

Andre tearing Hogan’s shirt (and crucifix) during the Piper’s Pit segment really solidified things, but Heenan’s promo drove the message home and made it clear that Andre was done being Hogan’s buddy. And all of it kicked off the biggest angle in professional wrestling to that point.
