5. Davey Boy Smith
WWE.comThe man who many feel has a claim to being the best wrestler to never win a WWF or WCW World Title, Davey Boy Smith is an interesting case for the Hall Of Fame. If you're basing it solely on his in-ring career, he absolutely deserves to be inducted, as he saw great success as a tag team and singles wrestler for over a decade-and-a-half, winning seven total titles while working for the WWF, and also having success as a part of Stampede Wrestling. He was strong, he was charismatic, and he was very underrated at times, when he had his head in the game. On the other hand, though, his very public issues with steroid abuse and painkiller addiction is exactly the type of thing WWE would like to stay away from, as it
always comes back to bite them on the ass when the media gets a hold of it. If you let the media like Nancy Grace tell the story, Davey died directly from a steroid injection given to him by Vince McMahon. Giving something positive to anyone that had anything to do with steroids, whether they're still alive or not, is like opening Pandora's Box for WWE. Another posthumous induction, while necessary, would serve as a sobering reminder of just how tough the wrestling business can be on everyone, from those competing to those who grow up watching.
