Both Carlito and JD McDonagh were over the moon that stablemate Dominik Mysterio managed to retain his Intercontinental Title vs. Penta on Saturday. Y'know who wasn't exactly thrilled? Finn Bálor. There was a sensational over-the-shoulder shot of 'Dirty Dom' celebrating before cameras cut to the next segment; it showed a stern Finn staring a hole through the back of his so-called friend.

Treachery is afoot, people. It's only a matter of time before Bálor and Mysterio are at loggerheads as opponents, and they're going to rip the place apart. Bizarrely, and this is something nobody could've called at the turn of the year, Dom Dom will be the one playing babyface. WWE fans have really taken a shine to someone they wouldn't let talk for years. Those same folks have watched this little git grow and blossom into a standalone WWE megastar in the making.

Therein lies the point: Dominik will be standalone soon. He's outgrown the Judgment Day idea, and that faction feels flimsy in mid-2025 anyway. It's been flagging ever since Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley left to do their own thing, being honest.

At Backlash, Finn took too long hitting Penta and grabbed a steel chair first. The referee saw that, which nearly backfired on Judgment Day and ruined their masterplan to help Dom retain. This is something Mysterio can poke fun at Bálor for on TV soon, which won't go down well with the veteran. He definitely did well to smile when Carlito, JD or Dominik looked his way at the weekend, but that smirk wiped when nobody was looking.

What's that old chestnut about cinema?
