7 Observations From Attending WWE Raw Live In Missouri

1. In The Dark For A Dark Match

It goes without saying that in most circumstances, wrestling fans can expect a little more than the usual three-hour song and dance they’re treated to during Monday Night RAW when they attend in person. After the cameras roll, a dark match usually occurs, pitting some of the most noteworthy stars in the company against one another in what’s largely considered a “go home happy” stint. Heck, sometimes it’s even a promo from one of the better talkers in the business, or some goofy birthday celebration. Something, anything.

In St. Louis, we got squat.

Prior to the television taping, we were greeted with the filming of WWE Superstars for the Network, and that was it. After Roman Reigns put AJ Styles through the table following the hectic scramble that was the main event, he posed down in front of the destroyed structure long enough for the cameras to stop rolling before hauling off to the back. AJ Styles solemnly got to his feet in an awkward moment where his music was cued, looking dazed and confused and he hobbled to the locker room. He was the victor of the match, perhaps, but it felt strange after such a vicious beat down.

We were told that tickets were currently on-sale for their next show later in the year, WWE Smackdown, which would be the final Smackdown before the New Year. Maybe the Smackdown taping will feature far more post-taping shenanigans? We can only hope.
