7 Options To End Brock Lesnar's WWE Universal Championship Reign

5. Daniel Bryan

Sticking with slightly unusual choices, what is stopping a member of the SmackDown roster from conquering The Conquerer? WWE’s pay-per-views are no longer brand exclusive, and both RAW and SmackDown competitors can be found wrestling on these monthly extravaganzas. The days of the ‘Big Four’ being the only chance to see brands collide are over.

There are a number of SmackDown stars who could conceivably stand across the ring from Brock Lesnar and live to tell the tale, but there are none more popular than Daniel Bryan. Lesnar vs. Bryan has been a dream match for many for a very long time now, and the issues with Roman Reigns can be traced back to WWE going with him against Lesnar in 2015 ahead of Bryan.

A lot has changed over those three years, but the chance to right the wrongs of the past are here. Paul Heyman can throw the challenge out to SmackDown competitors, drawing a challenge from Daniel Bryan. The American Dragon can thus shock the world by defeating Lesnar, and make the move to Monday nights in the process. Wishful thinking? Of course, but being a wrestling fan is as much about hope as it is anything else.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
