7 Options To End Brock Lesnar's WWE Universal Championship Reign

2. Braun Strowman

It has to be Braun Strowman, right? The Monster Among Men is far and away the most popular superstar in WWE right now, despite the best attempts of the company to turn him into a comic book giant more focused on entertaining than winning. Strowman’s feats of strength have become a gimmick in recent months, but he remains wildly over with the WWE Universe.

Braun qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match this past Monday night, but it is unlikely that a run with the briefcase is in the big man’s future. Strowman doesn’t need the fortuitous nature of the gimmick to make himself a threat. During Lesnar’s long reign, Braun has been presented as the only viable physical threat to the champion.

Their first match was a huge disappointment, but Lesnar and Strowman’s interactions during the Royal Rumble triple threat reignited the fires of those hoping to see a big hoss car wreck. It is clear that Lesnar enjoys working with The Abominable Strowman, straight punches to the head aside. Lesnar always seems to give Braun plenty in their matches.

If WWE has any real sense (spoiler: it doesn’t), Braun Strowman will defeat Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship and he will do so at the next possible opportunity. What you do with the inexperienced and relatively green Strowman afterwards remains to be seen, but the former Black Sheep offers the best opportunity for someone to truly benefit from beating Brock.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
